Translating various types of files

We are familiar with the world of translation technology, which means that we can translate the contents of practically any file while preserving the layout. This goes for common files, for instance those from Word, Excel and PowerPoint, but also for more complex file types such as CSV, XML and PO. We always preserve the layout when we are translating, even when there is HTML coding in your texts.

Translating your file

LinQuake will work together with you, to look for the most effective method for translating large quantities of information quickly and for an acceptable fee. If the information has been put in a Word file, there won’t be many problems. But what if the information exists within your software? We can offer you solutions for translations of files such as:

  • Product exports from your webshop, PIM or ERP system
  • Large quantities of text files from your website
  • E-commerce files
  • DITA files

Another reason why we can translate your files effectively is because we work within our own online translation platform. We will make sure that your terminology database  and translation memories are being used. In this way, the translated texts are saved and are always ready to be reused. Therefore, if there is a new version of your file, our technology will immediately recognise the changes. This will save you a lot of time and money.

Exporting, translating and importing files

If we translate the content of your files, we will maintain the layout. This means that you can quickly and easily publish the translated texts again. As far as we are concerned, the ideal procedure is as follows:

  • You export the texts be translated to the file type of your choosing.
  • We will then configure an extract method for your file. With this method, we will be able to remove only the text that will be translated (without the coding, layout or enumeration) from the file.
  • We then translate your texts.
  • Finally, we put your translations back together with the layout of your file. During this process, any coding will be preserved.
  • You will receive the translated file and can import this to your software (for example your website, webshop, ERP, PIM, etc.).
  • Your translated texts are ready to be published, possibly after an internal proofreading.

We are very willing to discuss with you the ideal procedure for your files and the technical environment. Contact us for an appointment (by telephone)

Translating files with an API

If you have a file that is continuously being edited, and the necessity for constant exporting and importing is very time-consuming, it can be interesting to invest in an API. With an API, you can link your environment to our translation environment, so your texts can be continuously edited in all the desired languages. Contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Translating various types of files

We can translate various types of files and documents. Below, you will find a full list of all the file types we can translate, while maintaining the original layout. What if your file type not on this list? Don’t worry, this list is being updated continuously. Benader ons dus gerust om te onderzoeken of we ook een oplossing hebben voor uw bestand.
